/FRE/FRP_003 - Maintain Forecasting Profiles
General Material Data PERFORM Short ReferenceThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
The forecast profile contains forecast settings on the location product level. The result of the forecast calculation is the mean forecast. The mean forecast value is used as input for the demand calculation, which results in net requirements and maximum forecast values.
- Basic Settings
- This subprofile contains definitions for the basic forecast process settings.
- Preparation
- This subprofile contains settings for the preparation of the actual consumption as input for the forecast calculation. The preparation of the consumption time series takes place only temporarily as input for the forecast calculation and is neither stored nor visible to the user.
- Forecast Methods
- For each Selling Class you must assign a Forecast Method.
- Depending on the defined forecast method, the forecast calculation considers the settings for either the Regression or Smoothing forecast method. The defined forecast method used is when more than 6 weeks are available as past consumption horizon. Otherwise, the specific forecast techniques for newly listed location products are automatically used.
- Forecast Method Regression
- This subprofile describes parameters that affect the Regressionforecast method.
- This method provides an automatically determination of settings for parameter optimization. It also provides constant and fixed seasonal cycles as well as variable seasonal cycles. One seasonal cycle is defined as the period of a single cycle consisting of 52 or 53 weeks. All DIF types are available except Ignore and Correction
- Forecast Method Smoothing
- This subprofile describes parameters that affect the Smoothing fforecast method.
- This method Smoothing provides only constant and fixed seasonal cycles for seasonal products. The seasonal cycle describes the number of periods between two occurrences of a season.
- Only Boolean DIFs are available.
You must set one profile as default profile. The system uses this profile if no other profile is maintained in the master data.
SAP provides ongoing settings so that you can make Customizing settings in the productive system, if necessary.
Note
Make sure that you update the productive client so that the settings from the Customizing client do not overwrite the settings in the productive client.
