SAP E-Book

The Requirement Calculation profile describes all demand calculation settings. The result of the demand calculation is the maximum forecast value and the net requirements. These maximum forecast values are used as input for the requirement quantity optimization. The profile is assigned at the location product level.

  • Basic Settings
This subprofile contains the basic replenishment process settings
  • Requirement Calculation Strategy
This subprofile contains settings for defining the requirement calculation strategy. In general, the calculated forecast is the basis for the requirements quantity calculation. In the subprofile, you can define the aggregated order forecast as the basis for the requirements quantity calculation. In this case, the forecast is calculated and displayed, but it is not used for the calculation of the required order proposal quantity.
  • Dynamic Minimum Stock
This subprofile contains settings for handling dynamic minimum stock. Based on a mean value, the dynamic minimum stock is calculated within each FRP run. It is based on a mean value of consumption of the weekly consumption time series and the standard deviation. If the parameters in the subprofile are not maintained, the system uses the static minimum stock maintained in the location product master data.
  • Daily Demand
This subprofile contains the definition of the distribution of weekly forecast value based on daily forecast values.
  • Limit Types
This subprofile contains setting that determine whether the maximum stock is a hard limit that must not be exceeded or a soft limit that can be exceeded if the net requirements quantity is sufficiently high
  • RP Type - Manual Requirement Calculation
This feature is relevant for products with RP type 13 (replenishment is manual but automatic is also possible). It describes the point in time at which the requirement calculation of a product switches from manual to automatic.

You must set one profile as the default profile. The system uses this profile if no other profile is maintained in the master data.

SAP provides current settings so that, if necessary, you can make Customizing settings in the productive system.

Note

You must make sure that you update the productive client so that the settings from the Customizing client do not overwrite the settings in the productive client.
