In this Customizing activity you define the value adjustment approach for the value adjustment procedure FVA. The settings you make here are used by the FVA: Update Flat Rate Value Adjustment report.

The system derives the percentage rate for the calculation of the reserve for bad debt (value adjustment) required from the combination of the product type, source system and value adjustment indicator.

You must have defined the RBD area.

Loan contracts are transferred to the RBD Gate by the value adjustment procedure FVA so that value adjustments can be made. The value adjustments are made depending on the dunning level of the loan in question; for this reason the system also supplies the value adjustment indicator in the RBD Gate with the dunning level of the relevant loan contract.

The following applies to RBD area 0001 from 01/01/2010:

  • For product type 34A and value adjustment indicators 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 the reserve for bad debt (value adjustment) rates 10%, 20%, 20%, 40% and 50% are to be used.
  • For product type 34A and value adjustment indicators 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 the reserve for bad debt (value adjustment) rates 5%, 10%, 16%, 23% and 31% are to be used.

In this Customizing activity, you can use wildcard characters. Wildcard is the name given to a placeholder in the form of an asterisk and allows you to make generalized settings for specific table columns. This minimizes the number of entries that need to be made and provides a better overview. The wildcards in this table can be used for the RBD area and the source system product type.

Note that the "specific entries" are processed first, followed by the general entries.
