SAP E-Book

Run this report to notify Content Managers by email of element rules that cannot be determined. You can run it manually from the IMG or set it up to run as a batch job.

The purpose of the report is to check the application log to which errors have been written at SAP Document Builder runtime when an author generates a document and the system encounters any of the following errors:

  • Cannot determine whether to either include or exclude an element based on a rule.
  • Cannot find a variable referred to in a rule.
  • Cannot find an element referred to in a rule.

If there are errors to be reported, an email is sent to the contact you have defined in Define Configuration Parameters. The configuration parameter name is "CM" and its value is the system user ID of the Configuration Manager. An email is sent to the inbox of the Business Workplace - SBWP transaction. When properly configurated, these business workplace inbox documents can be forwarded to an external e-mail address. You need to assign the value "X" to the parameter of "APP_LOG" to ensure that errors are written to the log.

Since setting up the report to run as a batch job and configuring of the appropriate person to receive error messages are technical tasks, it is recommended that these tasks be performed by a System Administrator.
