SAP E-Book

In this section you set the criteria according to which the system should select requirements records as well as stock elements during an allocation run.

Requirements records for a certain SKU of an AFS material can be created by various applications. For example, requirements are created by entering sales documents in sales and distribution (sales order requirements) , as well as in production (planned independent requirements).

Therefore you must uniquely specify for each rule of the requirements selection, the requirements records of which origin the system should consider for the allocation run.

Otherwise the same requirements record might be allocated twice.

Activities

Using your own rules for the requirements filtering, you control that the system additionally checks each requirements record that has been selected for an alloction run according to the above defined rules for the requirements selection. This way you can influence, for example, that only those requirements records of such sales documents will be included in the allocation run and will be allocated stock, which are not locked as a result of the credit limit check or other blocking reasons.

Hint
Your settings for the requirements filter have the effect that you do not distribute any stock to sales documents using the allocation, which cannot be delivered due to an exceeded credit limit or due to the cancellation date, for example. You also make sure that you distribute the stock as well as possible to documents that are open and waiting to be delivered.
Example
You want to exclude requirements records from the allocation run that are from orders that have a credit lock at header level. To do this you define a rule for the requirements filtering and assign the reaction parameter E (error) to it in the field Credit Check Headerin the detail screen.
Activities

Stock elements of all different types can exist for each SKU of an AFS material within each application. Stock elements include batch stock, which is freely available in the warehouse, as well as batch stock that is blocked (for example because it is still in the quality check or because it is special stock for a specific customer). Future incoming stock (such as incoming stock from purchase orders or production orders) is another example of stock elements.

You must therefore uniquely specify for each rule of the stock selection which stock elements the system should use during an allocaton run for the requirements coverage.

Hint
At present, only one requirements coverage using freely available batch stock is possible for the allocation in the normal mode. You can choose other stock elements or future incoming stock only for special forms of the allocation, such as the allocation within a consignment process or in the preview mode.

Otherwise the same stock element might be used to cover several requirements.

Activities
When defining the rule, select the rule that you want to use for the requirements selection with your basic allocation type in the detail view free available batch stock. Assign only the stock type free available batch stock (element MCHB with characteristic CLABS) to this rule and activate the entry.
