SAP E-Book

As a rule, your customers must pay for requested value-added services. This payment varies, depending on the effort required to carry out the value-added services, how much time is needed, and which materials you must provide and use.

Such payments are defined by charge codes to which you assign corresponding conditions.

You uniquely define charge codes using the allocation of an alphanumeric key with a mamimum of three digits and the assignment of a short text for explanation.

With help of the indicator you and the system can distinguish between the price codes. You can change the short text of a charge code any time, even if you have already used the code.

You can define the price code according to the requirements of your company.

  • For example, you can create charge codes per VAS-type. That means, key and short text of the codes show which codes you want to use for ticketing/labeling, packing or special services.
  • But can also choose the key and short text so that you can see in the application whether it is an absolute or a percentage-based surcharge.

You should only delete a price code if you do no longer use it in valid VAS-conditions.

In the Standard AFS System, you can establish conditions for VAS-charge codes using two condition types: One (J3AB) for the calculation of an absolute surcharge, and the other (J3AC) for the calculation of a percentage-based surcharge.

Enter the condition in the screen AFS create conditions - initial screen that you want to assign to all or to a part of your charge codes and enter the (absolute or percentage-based) surcharges within the relevant sales area and validity period for your charge codes.

For one of your customers you carry out the value-added service ticketing before each delivery. The customer has agreed to pay a price markup of 1% of the value of an order item. For this you define a charge code ET1 and determine an amount of 1% using condition type J3AP. Using VAS-conditions or in the order you enter your charge code ET1 to the value-added service packing for this customer.
