/FRE/FRP_011 - Maintain Service Level Profiles
General Data in Customer Master General Material DataThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
The Service Level profile contains all parameters that impact the service level. It is assigned at the location product level.
- Regular service level
- Unforeseen demand fluctuations can lead to a greater demand for a product and therefore possible stockouts. To account for the probability such fluctuations, you can calculate a safety stock increase from the mean forecast by entering a service level. A service level of 95%, for example, means that there is a 95% chance that there will be no gaps in the stock. The higher the service level, the higher the safety stock increase will be.
- Specific service level
- You can maintain a service level for newly listed products or for a second net demand calculation, and so on. This calculation used for issuing exceptions.
You must set one profile as the default profile. The system uses this profile if no other profile is maintained in the master data.
SAP provides ongoing settings so that, if necessary, you can make Customizing settings in the productive system.
You must make sure that you update the productive client so that the settings from the Customizing client do not overwrite the settings in the productive client.
For more information about ongoing settings, see the SAP Library under:
SAP Net Weaver Components → SAP Web Application Server → Customizing (BC-CUS) → Implementation Guide → Using the IMG → Enhancing IMGs → IMG Structure Maintenance (BC-CUS) → Create IMG Structure → Customizing in a Productive System.
The regular service level is depends on the ABC indicator and selling class. The service level determination sequence starts from the specific to the general:
- Service level depending on the ABC indicator and the selling class
- Service level depending on the ABC indicator
- Service level depending on the selling classes
- Service level without ABC indicator or selling class
Default value | USS1 | USS2 | SS1 | SS2 | FS1 | FS2 | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Default value | 96% | 90% | |||||
ABC Indicator A | 91% | 92% | 97% | 98% | |||
ABC Indicator B | 94% | ||||||
ABC Indicator C | 89% | 93% |
- Location product with ABC indicator Aand selling class FS1:
- Uses the service level of 97%. Because a service level is defined for the combination of ABC indicator A and selling class FS1, that service level is used
- Location product with ABC indicator B and selling class SS2
- Uses the service level of 94%. Because no service level is defined for the ABC indicator B and selling class SS2, the default value for the ABC indicator B is used
- Location product with ABC indicator C and selling class SS1.
- Uses the service level of 90%. Because no service level is defined for the combination of ABC indicator C and selling class SS1 and no default value for ABC indicator C is defined, the standard value/for SS1 is used
- Location product with ABC indicator Cand selling class FS1
- Uses the service level of 96%. Because no service level is defined for either the combination of ABC indicator C and the selling class FS1, or for the standard values for ABC indicator C and selling class FS1, the general standard value is used
