SAP E-Book

In this step you define element types to distinguish between the various elements of a document, such as:

  • Clauses
  • Section headers and footers
  • Forms
  • Reports
  • Custom and user clauses

Note

Typically, custom and user clauses are not maintained by the Content Manager in the Implementation Guide, but rather by authors working in SAP Document Builder itself. Custom clauses refer to clauses created from scratch for one specific document, whereas user clauses can be reused in other documents but cannot be shared among users.

In addition to the standard element types delivered by SAP, you may want to define your own ones to meet your business requirements.

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Select the relevant element type and enter a description.
  3. Save your entries.
  4. Repeat the previously mentioned steps for any further element types.
