Define rules that determine one or more document types for the output.

Every time the system determines an output item for print or email output (via output parameter determination), these rules determine additional documents to be included in the output based on their document type. The rules can be set per output channel.

For a combination of application object type, output type, and channel, you define whether the document of a specific type is relevant for the output and whether they are merged with the form template.

This setting only has an effect when there are documents of the specific type available for the output.

Only documents with file type PDF can be merged with the form template. Documents with another file type are ignored for merging but stay relevant for the output.

You need to assign document types to specific application objects and output types before you can define the rules that determine one or more document types for the output.

Application Object Type Output Type Document Type Channel Relevant Merge
MANUFACTORING_ORDER ORDER_DATA_LIST SL1 EMAIL X
MANUFACTORING_ORDER ORDER_DATA_LIST SO1 EMAIL X X
MANUFACTORING_ORDER PICK_LIST SL1 PRINT X

Every time the system determines an email output item for an order data list, all documents of type SL1 and SO1 are selected automatically. In addition, the documents of type SO1 are merged with the rendered form template. In case a document of type SO1 is not a PDF file, it is attached to the email but not merged.

Every time the system determines a print output item for a pick list, only documents of type SL1 are selected.

Note: If the print queue does not support attachments, the output relevance and the merge indicator are ignored.
