SAP E-Book

In this IMG activity, you maintain the categories. You use categories to configure the scope of check of a product availability check.

For non-SAP systems, you create non-SAP categories in a separate dialog.

SAP provides special ATP categories for purchase orders. If you activate any of these special ATP categories, the system uses them instead of the corresponding SAP categories BF, BG or BT:

  • If you activate any of the categories LA, LB, LC, LE or LF, the system uses these categories instead of category BF.
  • If you activate any of the categories LH, LI or LJ, the system uses these categories instead of category BG.
  • If you activate any of the categories LN, LO or LP, the system uses these categories instead of category BT.

"BM" stands for sales order, "BN" stands for SD scheduling agreement.

You can only create non-SAP categories using your own dialog. To create non-SAP categories, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose Non-SAP-categories -> New entries.
  2. Define the category by entering a two-digit value. Note that the namespace "U" to "Z" is reserved for this value. All values up to "U" are reserved for SAP categories.
  3. Enter a short and long text describing the category.
  4. Enter a value (maximum two-digits) for the sort string. The sort string determines the sequence in which the categories are taken into account by the system in the availability check and in the display.
  5. Choose a category type using the input help (F4). The category type divides the categories into the following types:
  • Stock

  • Receipts

  • Requirements

  • Forecast

  1. If you want the category to be relevant at the sublocation level only, set the Relevnt Subloc. indicator.
  2. Save your entries
