In this IMG activity, you determine how the system behaves when iPPE master data on which a production data structure is based are new or have been changed.

To use the new or changed iPPE master data for planning, you must generate the relevant production data structure (PDS) in the SAP APO system. A production data structure is generated from a production version. You must generate production data structures for data that originated from the SAP APO system and from the DIMP system to be able to use this data for planning.

The procedure for generating production data structures differs depending on whether the data is new or changed:

  • You must generate the production data structure at least once for new data that is used for planning.
  • You have the following two options for changed data:
  • You can continue working with the existing version of the production data structure in planning and generate the PDS with new data at a later point in time.

  • You generate the PDS with new data as soon as changes have been made, and continue planning using the most current data.

The following options exist for generating a production data structure:

  • Generate After Saving:
  • You can determine for iPPE master data originating from the SAP APO system if a new PDS is generated automatically when saving changes made to master data.

  • This option does not exist for iPPE master data that originated from the DIMP system, and whose changes are always first transferred to the SAP APO system using the Core Interface (CIF). In this case, you must always generate the PDS manually or as a background job (report /SAPAPO/CURTO_RELEASE 'Generate Production Data Structures from iPPE Data').
