APO_PPS_MMP_RET01 - Define Restrictions on Fields in the Product Master

You can ceate restrictions for fields in the product master as well as for characteristic values.

You find the field name of the product master fields in table /SAPAPO/MATKEY.

You can only define restrictions for fields in the product master by using the BAdI /SAPAPO/SEQ_CVCVALUE.

For example, you can define a quantity restriction according to which product XYZ can only be assembled a maximum of 50 times in one shift.

To do this, proceed as follows:

1. In the DI System, create a characteristic in the characteristics maintenance and transfer it to APO.
2. Enter the name of the characteristic in this IMG activity in the Characteristic field and enter MATNR in the field name column. (MATNR is the field name of the product number.)
3. When defining the restriction, enter the characteristic name in the characteristic valuation in the dependency editor and the desired product number as the characteristic value.
