In this IMG activity, you define and maintain sales order profiles, which consist of characteristics and the upper and lower delta values of the characteristics. You can use a sales order profile to quickly populate the characteristics and values in the Characteristic Filter in the Product Planning Table with respect to a sales order.

A sales order profile defines which characteristics from the sales order are applied for the filter. It also defines which tolerances for the values must be applied, that is, the value of the sales order minus or plus a defined delta. The delta refers to the base value defined by the value in the sales order.

The sales order profile consists of only numerical characteristics. Each has a maximum of five characteristics.
