In this Customizing activity, you can define the scope of each evaluation profile for capacity utilization, which the system uses in the Monitor Capacity Utilization app. You can define which orders the system takes into account and whether it should consider scheduled operations or deallocated operations.

You also define the threshold percentages for underutilization and full utilization. Since the threshold for overutilization is by default 100%, these three values determine the ranges for normal and full utilization. Based on these values, the chart in the app displays the utilization of each resource as follows:

  • Underload = blue
By defining the threshold for underutilization in this Customizing activity, you specify the percentage below which the system considers the utilization of a resource as too low. If the rate of utilization falls below this percentage, the resource is being utilized below its capacity and therefore not efficiently. This situation is depicted in the chart by the color blue.
  • Normal Utilization = green
Once you have defined the thresholds for underutilization and full utilization, you have a range in which the system considers the utilization of the resource to be "normal". This means the resource is being utilized relatively efficiently, without stretching the capacity, and is depicted in the chart by the color green. If, for example, you define the threshold for underutilization as 50% and the lower threshold for full utilization to be 91%, normal utilization would be the range from 50% to 90%.
  • Full Utilization = yellow
In this Customizing activity, you define the threshold (or lower limit) for full utilization. Since the standard threshold for overutilization is 100%, you then have the range of full utilization. This means that the system considers the resource to be fully utilized because most or all of its capacity is loaded. On the one hand, this means maximum efficiency, on the other hand, this is critical because the resource has reached or is about to reach 100% and should not be loaded any further. This is therefore depicted in the chart by the color yellow. If, for example, you define the lower threshold for full utilization to be 91%, the range of full utilization would be 91% to 100%.
  • Overload = red
The standard threshold for overutilization is 100%. If a resource is being utilized above 100%, hence above its capacity, the system considers this to be too high.It depicts this in the chart by the color red.

The standard system comes with SAP standard profile SAP000000001that typically need not be changed. If necessary, you can create your own profiles.

To create a new profile, choose New Entries and enter the appropriate parameters. To modify an existing profile, double-click it in the table and add your changes.
