APO_PPS_SFTY_STCK - Extend Heuristic for Creating Safety Stocks in SAP liveCache

You use this BAdI in Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS). You can use it to modify a heuristic that creates safety stock requirements in SAP liveCache based on the algorithm /SAPAPO/HEU_PLAN_SAFETY_STOCK (for example, the standard heuristic SAP_PP_018). In the standard system, the heuristic only creates a safety stock requirement for a product in the make-to-stock segment. The requirements quantity is the same as the safety stock from the location product master. Therefore, you can only implement the heuristic if you plan make-to-stock production and use static safety stock methods. You can use the BAdI to extend the heuristic as follows:
- In SAP liveCache, you can create safety stock requirements in planning segments (pegging areas) other than the make-to-stock segment
- To do so, you use the SELECT_PEGID method.
- In SAP liveCache, you can create safety stock elements for dynamic safety stock
- You use the method UPDATE_IO_NODES.
The system calls up the BAdI if it executes a heuristic that is based on the algorithm /SAPAPO/HEU_PLAN_SAFETY_STOCK.
- In the standard system, the Business Add-In is not active
- The Business Add-In is for multiple use
- The Business Add-In is not filter-dependent
