You can use this BAdI to check the available capacity of a resource and to compare the capacity requirement with the available capacity when an order is exploded.

Application Example

When an order is created, the system explodes the PPM or the PDS of the product that is to be produced. If you are using a multiactivity resource in the PPM/PDS then the system uses this resource. The capacity requirement of the multiactivity resource is quantity-dependent. If the order quantity is now so large that the capacity requirement exceeds the available capacity, the system is unable to create the order. Instead the system issues the following message: /SAPAPO/RRP 326.

You can then use this Business Add-In to automatically extend the operation and reduce the capacity requirement. You do so using the method CHECK_AVAILABLE_CAPA. This method checks and, if necessary, adjusts the duration and capacity load to the available capacity of the resource.

The default coding generates the error message mentioned above. The example coding extends the activities.
