APO_SDP_CSPTYP - Set Consumption Type

In this activity you define how the consumption of planned independent requirements is carried out technically.

There are three options:

• Online

This is the default setting. New (sales) orders automatically consume the planned independent requirements according to the settings in the requirements strategy. The system does this as soon as the order enters the system or is saved.

• QRFC consumption

In order to improve performance the system separates the consumption process from other processes involved with creating a sales order in SAP APO. The consumption tasks are placed in queues which are then processed consequently.

• Background job

The system carries out consumption in the background. You must schedule report program /SAPAPO/DM_ALLOCATION_BTC_RFC to run regularly as a background job. This means of course that the consumption situation is not necessarily up-to-date.

In this activity you select the type of consumption that you want to use, default is Online.

You can also specify the the maximal number of parallel work processes that consumption can use.
