APO_TPVS_07 - Maintain Compatibility of Location/Means of Transport

In this IMG activity, you specify whether a means of transport is compatible or incompatible with a location.

The compatibilities or incompatibilities that you maintain here are taken into account in multilevel planning and the optimization run. In the optimization run, they are counted as a hard constraint.

It is only useful to maintain compatibilities/incompatibilities between means of transport and locations if you are working with transportation zones.

A plant can only be called at by trucks up to a certain size. These trucks are compatible with the plant. All trucks that exceed this size are incompatible.

You have maintained means of transport in Customizing. You have also maintained locations in the location master. For these locations, you have specified in the TP/VS-specific settings which entries should be taken into account in this IMG activity.

  1. Choose the IMG activity for maintaining the compatibility of the location/means of transport. Go to the Change View "Compatibility: Location/Means of Transport": Overview.
  2. Choose New Entries. You see the New Entries: Details of Added Entries screen.
  3. Use input help (F4) to select a means of transport.
  4. Use input help to select the location to which the means of transport should be assigned.
  5. Use input help to select a value in the Compatible/Incompatible Means of Transport field. Indicate whether the selected means of transport should be compatible or not.
  6. Save your entries.
  7. Choose Back. You return to the Change View "Compatibility: Location/Means of Transport": Overview, in which the existing and new entries are displayed. You can also make changes on this screen.

If you have specified in the location master that only compatible means of transport should be taken into account for the location, all means of transport for which you have set the value Compatible in the Compatibility field in this IMG activity are taken into account.
