You can use this BAdI during interactive requirement processing in the Release for Delivery app to calculate the impact of a requested material being unavailable.

The impact is expressed by two figures:

  • A numeric value describing the significance of the impact on a relative scale of 0 to 100 (whereby 0 is the lowest impact value, 100 the highest)
  • An indicator displaying impact criticality

This BAdI is called when a user launches the Release for Delivery app or when a user triggers a worklist refresh. Then, the impact information provided by this BAdI is displayed in the UI as a bar chart in the material table. In this chart, the impact value is represented by the length of the bar while the criticality is represented by the color of the bar.

The behavior of the default implementation depends on whether the related BAdI for the impact calculation for a requirement has been implemented:

  • If it has been implemented, it will use the impact information provided by that BAdI and then aggregate it at material-plant level by summing the individual requirement impacts applied to their respective unconfirmation rates. If the BAdI provides criticality information, material criticality is determined as follows: if a requirement, that is not fully confirmed, is marked as critical and if the impact value is greater than 0, the corresponding material is also marked as critical. If the BAdI provides no criticality information, a material is considered critical when its impact value is three times the average impact value of all materials in the worklist.
  • If it hasn't been implemented, it will use the net price of the individual requirement and then aggregate it at material-plant level by summing up the individual requirement net price applied to their respective un-confirmation rates. A material is considered critical when its impact value is three times the average impact value of all materials in the worklist.
