This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the Quality Issue Management component (CA-IAM-QIM). You use this BAdI to implement a connection to different types of quality issues.

To decouple Quality Issue Management (QIM) from a specific data model, an abstract definition (component QAM_QI) was created for the issue via the GenIL Model Editor (transaction GENIL_MODEL_EDITOR).

The system accesses the genIL component via the business object layer (BOL) by specifying an object category. The component implementation of QAM_QI calls the category-dependent implementation of this BAdI to access a specific data model of the issue.

If you want to create your own implementation, you must have created a new object category (key) for the object type generic quality issue (object type I) in the appropriate client using the Customizing activity Define Object Categories for Issues, Activities, and Issue Types.

We provide corresponding BAdI implementations for the object categories supplied.

  1. Assign the appropriate filter values for the category and the client.
  2. Activate the BAdI implementation.
  3. In the Customizing activity Define Access to Quality Issues, create an entry for your object category to allow access to it in the application.
If you want to use remote access to the issue, assign the necessary systems to the category.

For information about the implementation of BAdIs in the context of the Enhancement Concept, see SAP Library for SAP NetWeaver under BAdIs - Embedding in the Enhancement Framework.

For information about the BAdI methods, see the interface documentation.
