SAP E-Book

In this activity, you define which roles in the Internet service can be used for user administration (BBPUSERMAINT). This activity is optional. You only need to define these roles if you do not want to use the delivered roles or if you want to change the list of displayed roles.

As standard in the Internet service for user administration, you can assign all composite roles that are supplied (standard) with SAP Markets Enterprise Buyer. In addition, you can assign all roles that are in the customer name space.

Note: If you only use the standard roles in your system and want to hide the customer roles, you can change the list of roles that are available in the Internet service for user administration. You can also display just one section of the roles in the customer name space.

  • Create an entry with the key EBP_ALL_NONSAP_ROLES and value NO. After you have done this, none of the roles in the customer name space will appear, unless they begin with the characters "Y", "Z", or a name space indicator "/.../". You can use this setting to prevent the system from displaying too many roles in the Internet service BBPUSERMAINT. We advise you to make this setting if you have very many roles in the customer name space and are not using them for the Internet service.
  • An entry with the key EBP_CUSTOMER_NAME and the prefix of your customer roles as a value allows you to view all roles with a specific prefix in the list, after you have restricted the display all the customer roles with the above setting.
  • If you want to prevent the system from displaying the delivered standard roles, you create an entry with the key EBP_STANDARD_ROLES and the value NO.

You can also determine which role is assigned to a user as default if a role is not assigned explicitly when the user is created - as is the case with the Internet service BBPUSERMAINT:

  • For users that are not managers, the role SAP_BBP_STAL_EMPLOYEE is used as standard.

  • For users that are managers, the role SAP_BBP_STAL_MANAGER is used as standard.

If this is not appropriate, you can use this activity to define which other roles are to be used.
To set up user roles that differ from the standard role, you add the required key and value to each line in the table:
  1. For example, to set up the role for users that are not managers, you insert the key DEF_EMPLOYEE_ROLE and the name of the corresponding role as a value.
Note: If an entered role does not exist, the system ignores the entry.
  2. To set up the role for users that are managers, you insert the key DEF_MANAGER_ROLE and the name of the corresponding role as a value.
