SAP E-Book

In this and the following IMG activity, you specify which tax laws different goods movement transactions can fall under.

When you enter an invoice (which corresponds to an incoming nota fiscal), Enterprise Buyer calculates the related taxes, and in so doing, determines the relevant IPI and ICMS tax laws. It then transfers this information to an SAP backend system, which generates a nota fiscal. The tax law text that corresponds to the tax law is printed on the nota fiscal, and is used for statutory reporting purposes.

In this activity, you create an entry for each IPI tax law. You only need to enter the tax law ID and a description; the tax law text is derived in the SAP backend system. To make these entries, you can:

  • Copy them from your SAP backend system, in Customizing for Financial Accounting, under Financial Accounting Global Settings -> Tax on Sales/Purchases -> Basic Settings -> Brazil -> Define IPI Tax Laws.
  • Download them: from the SAP Easy Access Extended Relationship Management menu, choose Architecture and Technology -> Middleware -> Data Exchange -> Initial Load -> Start. The download object for Brazil is DNL_CUST_BRAZIL.
