SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you can activate business functions to enhance existing functions or implement new ones in your system.

Note:

The activity displays the business functions of all application areas.

When you activate business functions, the following objects are enhanced:

  • Customizing activities
  • User Interface (UI) elements
  • Functions (when source code is activated)

You can activate business functions for the following components:

  • SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SAP SRM)
  • Procurement for Public Sector (PPS)

You can also apply enhancements for the following countries:

  • Argentina
  • Brazil
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • Germany
  • India
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Sweden
  • Thailand
  • Taiwan

The implementation of new functions and functional enhancements is a two-step process. You must first activate the business function. As a result, the Customizing switches assigned to the business function are displayed. You can then decide whether you want to apply UI changes or execute new coding by activating the corresponding Customizing switch. In case of one-to-one relationships or calculated Customizing switches, however, the Customizing switch is automatically activated.

Note:

Some combinations with PPS business functions are not allowed. For more information, see the documentation of the individual Customizing switches.

The extended classic scenario is required for Procurement for Public Sector. Other SAP SRM technical scenarios, such as classic, standalone, and SAP SRM on One Client in SAP ERP are not supported.

By default, the business functions are inactive in the system.

Proceed as follows to activate business functions:

  1. Select a business function and choose System Settings -→ Activate.
  2. Save your entries.
