This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the Rebate Processing (CRM-RB) component.

You can use this BAdI to change the payment value when settling a rebate agreement.

You have maintained a calculation profile and a corresponding filter for payment value calculation. You do this in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Rebate Processing -> Rebate Profiles -> Calculation Profiles.

Create a BAdI implementation and assign the corresponding filter for payment value calculation to the implementation.

During partial settlement, for example, you only want to pay 50% of the payment value.
