In this IMG activity you create a distribution rule with which you assign a distribution method to a distribution basis. The distribution method determines how the distribution should be performed using a distribution basis. You can choose one of the following distribution methods:

  • Percentage distribution (%)
The system uses the distribution basis to calculate the percentage share that is allocated to the relevant personnel assignment. For personnel assignments whose distribution basis contains a negative value, the target wage type receives a corresponding negative value.
Examples:
The distribution basis of all personnel assignments is positive. The distribution basis of personnel assignment 1 is, for example, 100, distribution basis of personnel assignment 2 is 5000. The source wage type has the amount 300. In this case the target wage type of personnel assignment 1 receives 50 and the target wage type of personnel assignment 2 receives 250.
The distribution basis of the personnel assignments is party positive,
and partly negative. The distribution basis of personnel assignment 1 is 200, that of personnel assignment 2 is -1000. The source wage type has an amount of 100. In this case the target wage type of personnel assignment 1 receives the amount 200 and the target wage type of personnel assignment 2 receives the amount -100.
  • Percentage distribution to all personnel assignments with a positive distribution basis (%=)
The system calculates the percentage share that is allocated to each personnel assignment. However, during the distribution the system only takes into account personnel assignments that have a positive distribution basis, and ignores all personnel assignments assignments with a negative distribution basis.
An exception to this rule is if the distribution basis for all personnel assignments is either negative or zero. If this is the case, then the negative values are processed as if they were positive. If the distribution basis is zero for all personnel assignments, the system divides the amount from the source wage type equally between the personnel assignments.
  • Equal distribution (EQ)
Am equal amount is distributed to all the personnel assignments from the source wage type. The distribution basis is not taken into account.
  • Equal distribution amongst all personnel assignments with a positive distribution basis (EG)
The system distributes the amount from the source wage type equally amongst all personnel assignments which have a positive value in the distribution basis.
The system allocates the total amount from the source wage type to the main personnel assignment.
  • Allocation to the personnel assignment with the greatest distribution basis (MX)
The system allocates the total amount of the source wage type to the personnel assignment with the distribution basis that has the highest value.

You have performed the IMG activity Set Up Distribution Basis for Wage Types.
