BEN_00_AD_ZIPC_02 - Assign Zip Codes to Groups
CPI1466 during Backup CPI1466 during BackupThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
In this step, you assign 'eligible' zip codes to your zip code groups. You enter zip codes for a particular country, however, each zip code group can contain zip codes from different countries.
You have set up zip code groups in the previous step.
- Select a zip code group and a country.
- Enter zip code ranges or single zip codes, as required.
- If you want to assign a single zip code, enter this in the Lowest zip code field.
- Avoid entering adjacent zip code ranges, since this can lead to large numbers of entries in the corresponding table and therefore reduce system performance. The following example shows how 3 entries can be reduce to one by merging adjacent ranges:
Lowest zip code | Highest zip code |
---|---|
13453 | 13453-9999 |
13454 | 13454-9999 |
13455 | 13455-9999 |
can be replaced by: | |
13453 | 13455-9999 |
- If the zip codes controlling eligibility for a plan change, SAP recommends that you create a new zip code group and assign the new zip codes to this group, rather than adding/removing zip codes from an existing group. You can then delimit the eligibility rule entry in which the old zip code group is assigned and assign the new group in a new entry valid as of the relevant date. In this way, you retain a record of past zip code criteria.
- Note: System performance may be adversely affected if large numbers of zip code groups are defined (due to the large number of table entries). Once zip code criteria are long obsolete, SAP therefore recommends that you delete or archive these along with the relevant zip code groups.
