Overview

The procedures used up to Release 2.0 for copying a client by means of RSCLIC01 or RSCLIC02 as well as R3TRANS as physical copy tool only included the first-mentioned functionality. In addition, the online functionality only created a command file. The actual copy process had to be started by calling up R3TRANS on UNIX level.

With RSCLICOP, you can copy the entire Customizing environment of a source client into the target client.

RSCLIC01 and RSCLIC02 may no longer be used. RSCLICOP contains, in addition to the copy functionality, essential supplementary functions which preserve the consistency.

RSCLICOP also offers utilities for the system administration in addition to a clear copy log. This is explained below in more detail. The report should not run online since, when copying all client-specific tables, far over 2000 tables and a data volume of 50 to 100 MBytes are copied.

A client copy run online with a high-performance machine, low load with the option " without HR tables" takes 3 hours to set up 2000 tables for a new client.

Start the report for a complete copy (mode A) preferably in the background (creation of a variant is necessary).
