Use this step to configure the BRF BI Planning Connector (BBPC).

You need to carry out the steps described below before you configure the Business Rule Framework (BRF) itself.

We do not deliver any standard settings.

Proceed as follows:

  1. In the first maintenance view, go into change mode and enter the following:
  • A text (name) for the scenario.

  • The application class for the scenario

You have already created this in the BRF.
  • A currency for this scenario.

The above entries are required. At your option, you can also:
  • Check the Ca. Yr. Start indicator,

Checking this indicator stipulates that the planning function in the BBPC is to include data from the beginning of the calendar year when performing calculations.
  • Enter a figure in the P. Threshold field identifying the minimum number of rows of planning data required to trigger parallel processing.

  • Enter a figure in No.of Par.Proc.field, identifying the number of parallel processes to execute in parallel processing mode.

  1. Save your entries and choose InfoObject Usage in the Dialog Structure.
  2. The resulting view shows the InfoObjects available for the scenario These determine the InfoObjects available when you configure the BRF expression types. You can specify the following in the list:
  • Sort Number

Identifies an Infoobject as used for grouping subsets of planning data for calculation, and its position in the sort order.
  • Whether the Infoobject is to be sorted in descending sequence

  • Whether the Infoobject groups planning data together for parallel processing

  1. Save your entries and choose Cap Groups in the Dialog Structure
  2. In this view, you can specify minimum and maxim caps for calculation res ults. Enter the following:
  • ID and Description for the cap group

  • The InfoObject(s) to which the minimum cap in the group is to apply.

  • The value determining when a minium cap is applied

  1. Save your entries, select the cap group and choose Grouping Fields for Cap in the Dialog Structure.
  2. In the resulting view, enter the list of infoobjects that determine the set of data to which the cap applies.
  3. Save your entries and choose Buffer Settings for Lookups.
  4. It is possible to use the BBPC to look up data in Infoproviders other than the planning function. The default is for all the data from these Infoproviders to be buffered at the start of the calculation, but you can enter settings here to reduce the amount of data buffered.
In the maintenance view, enter an ID and text for the buffer settings and specify the InfoProvider to which the settings are to apply.
  1. Save your entries, then select the setting and choose Buffer Selection Criteria in the Dialog Structure.
  2. In the resulting view, you can make the following entries:
  • List Position

Identifies the position of an entry in the list.
  • Characteristic (InfoObject)

  • SIGN

That is, whether the specified values are included in the selection or excluded from it.
  • Operation

  • From and to values

  • The fiscal year variant
Note: This is only needed if a fiscal calendar-based BW variable is used as a From/To value.

  1. Save your entries.
