The stock statistics provide you with detailed information about your current and historical dataset in a compressed form. This information includes the number of business partners, contract accounts, contracts, installations, connection objects, all broken down according to certain criteria. You can also use master data reporting in BW to analyze current data (but not historical data), as most objects in the stock statistics are also available as master data. The delta procedure is used exclusively due to the large quantities of data for stock statistics. This procedure comprises an initial update and a delta update. The date of the initial update reflects that of the stock date in BW. In addition, you can also use the creation date (ERDAT) or the date of the last change (AEDAT) in BW for the stock date. The historical examination starts at different times depending on this information.

Business partner---Creation Date-----InitialUpdate----Stock Date in BW
------1------------01.01.1995--------01.10.1996-------01.10.1996
------2------------15.02.1996--------02.10.1996-------02.10.1996

Warning!
You must ensure that the ILOA table (PM object location and account assignment) is optimized using database tools before the extraction run. This table relevant for each extractor.

The DataSource for the sales statistics is used as standard with a large number of characteristics. According to the project scope, you require only a portion of the characteristics for your analyses in BW. The structure in the standard system for BW therefore only uses a portion ofthe available characteristics.

Due to the large quantities of data that are extracted to BW for the initial update, we recommend that you work on the required characteristics in this DataSource as early as possible. Avoid multiple initial loads due to 'forgotten' fields. Historical stock changes are lost because an initial update only takes into account the last changes and extracts them as opening stock.

Check the required fields for each DataSource for your project.
