This section contains information on the special features of HCM authorizations for BI Content that arise as a result of the changed authorization concept as of SAP NetWeaver 7.0.

If you want to adopt the changed authorization concept for BI Content, this requires migration. We recommend that you switch to the new SAP NetWeaver user-friendly authorization concept.

For more information, see the documentation for the relevant Customizing activity in SAP Customizing and choose SAP NetWeaver -> Business Intelligence -> Settings for Reporting and Analysis -> General Settings for Reporting and Analysis -> Analysis Authorizations: Select Concept.

When you perform migration or define authorizations for BI Content for Human Resources for the first time, further steps for HCM authorizations are also required, which are described in this section.

The required users should exist in both systems (BI system and back-end system).

At least one of the following InfoObjects should be selected as relevant for authorization in the BI system via transaction RSD1 (on the Business Explorer tab page under General Settings):

  • Organizational Unit (0ORGUNIT) characteristic
  • Employee (0EMPLOYEE) characteristic
  • Position (0HRPOSITION) characteristic

  1. Delete all data from the DataStore object (DSO) Structural Authorizations (0PA_DS02).
Note
This first step only applies to customers that have already used authorizations for BI Content for Human Resources, and not to new customers. However, new customers must also perform all of the following steps:
  1. Transfer the new transformation (RSDS 0HR_PA_2 C5ZCLNT070 -> ODSO 0PA_DS02) from the BI Content.
  2. Start the data transfer process to load data from the DataSource Structural Authorizations (OHR_PA_2).
  3. In transaction RSECADMIN, under Generation, enter the DataStore object 0PA_DS02 for the flat authorization and generate the authorization objects.
  4. Use transaction RSECADMIN to check the generated objects.
  5. If necessary, adjust the authorization HCM_SPEC_DIM.
  6. Add a variable of type Authorization to the queries for the authorization-relevant InfoObjects in the Human Resources area (see Prerequisites above). This is processed as a filter variable for authorizations when the query is run.

You create a filter variable for the filter characteristic Organizational Unit. Under Global Settings, you enter the following:

Type of Variable: Characteristic Value

Processing By: Authorization

Reference Characteristic: Organizational Unit
