The configuration wizard allows you to automatically configure the required settings for portal and BW integration.

You should only perform automatic configuration if the system has not been configured yet.

  • Setting Up Single Sign-On
To include portal content in BEx Web Application Designer, you need SSO tickets that are created in the BW system. To call BEx Web Applications in the portal, the BW system has to accept the SSO tickets from the portal.
  • To use Single Sign-On (SSO), install SAPSECULIB on each of the BW system's application servers. SSO software does not need to be installed on the client PC.

  • Using report RSPARAM, check the following profile parameters:

login/create_sso2_ticket=2
login/accept_sso2_ticket=1
  • Network Services
The network services have been configured. For more information, see SAP Note 52959 and the network services documentation.
  • Add-In Installation (Dual Stack)
With this type of installation, AS ABAP and AS Java have the same system IDs (SIDs). This results in import problems and problems with certificates if you use the Configuration Wizard. To avoid these problems, you need to make the settings as described in SAP Note 917950 under Additional Information.
  • Logon Group
In logon group maintenance (transaction SMLG), check that the logon group for your BW system has been created.
  • Users and Roles
Make sure that the user for the administrator has been created in the BW system and that role SAP JSF has been assigned.
To create the JCo destinations, user SAPBIMETA must have been created in the BW system and role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO must have been assigned.

To execute basic steps for automatically configuring the BI Java usage type for integration to the portal, proceed as follows:

  1. Call SAP NetWeaver Administrator at http://<host>:<httpport>/nwa and log on with the Administrator user.
  2. Choose Configuration Management -> Configuration Wizard -> Configuration Wizard.
  3. Under Show, choose All configuration tasks.
  4. Select Initial setup of functional unit BI and choose Start.
  5. Select the configuration mode. With BI configuration tasks, there is no difference between the two modes typical and custom. Choose Next.
  6. Enter the password. Choose Next. A screen appears where you can enter the value that you want to set. Note the tips documented under prerequisites.
  7. Under Connection to BI System (ABAP) and Domain of the Enterprise Portal System, enter the required information. Note the documentation for each field. You can access this by choosing the information icon.
  8. Choose Next. The system executes the required settings. Once all the steps have been performed, a message appears informing you. You can call a log for each step.
  9. You have to restart the system for the settings to become operative.

Manual Configuration

If not all steps are performed successfully, you can perform the relevant step manually instead. Manual configuration is also required after an upgrade.

Choose the activities Overview: Integration into the portal and Define JCo Destinations.
