In this step, you define the shifts using a grouping, for which you create the shift definitions. The shifts are needed for the followng functions:

To be able to stipulate the number of shifts, you must first define the shifts in this IMG activity.
  • You can also use the shifts for the creation of shift reports. You can create a shift report with reference to a shift by choosing the desired shift on the initial screen of the shift report.

For more information on shifts and shift sequences, see Define Shift Sequences.

  • For the shift notes/shift reports, you only have to create the shift definitions for a grouping. You can then assign this grouping in the work center by choosing the Capacity Header button on the Scheduling tab page. This takes you to the header data of the work center capacity. Here you can assign the grouping that you have created for your shift definitions in the Grouping field.
  • If you do not want to assign the grouping in the work center or if no work center is used (example: shift notes for functional locations), the system automatically uses the grouping 0. You must first create this grouping and create the possible shifts for it in the shift definition.
