SAP E-Book

In this step you define how to import commodities via the external partner program of your datafeed provider.

Notation:

Commodity name: GOLD (Gold)
Type: CLOSE (Closing price)

Relevant datafeed notation (example for Dow Jones, April 1997):

Instrument name: GGOLD
Data source: QFRecord
Instrument property: CLOSE

Instrument property:

There are no prerequisites for entering commodities.

Instrument property:

Define how you wish to import your indexes via the external partner program using the datafeed. You can define whether the prices are only supplied upon explicit request from the SAP system, or whether they should be supplied on a real-time basis via the datafeed provider's external partner program.

Instrument property:

Note that the Treasury module does not currently use commodities. However, you can import commodity prices via the datafeed and transfer them to other industry solutions (such as IS-Oil). In this case, you have to use the commodity names and price types of the other industry solution in the translation table in order to avoid transport problems. At present, you cannot display a price history in the system, since the indicator Save market data in R/3 permanently is not activated. If necessary, you can record the exchange rate history in the other industry solution.
