In this IMG activity, you can define how the CRM product catalog data is indexed on the Index Management Service (IMS) server and how the new indexes are handled.

You need to define the use of the programming interface SAP TREX API. To index the product catalog, select one of the following three options:

  • Use catalog staging
  • Do not use catalog staging. When indexing from the CRM system to the IMS server starts, existing TREX indexes are not deleted. After the indexing process is finished, the old indexes are deleted. Therefore, during the indexing process, the Web shop is still available.
  • Do not use catalog staging. Existing TREX indexes are deleted, as soon as the indexing process starts. The system and the application behave as if programming interface SAP SRET API were used as before.

In the standard system, the indexing process of the product catalog uses catalog staging.
