CONFIG_PROD_PROPOSAL - Product Proposal

This document provides an overview of the Customizing activities that are required to configure the product proposal function for use in Service for service purpose.
You can use this document as the access point for all relevant Customizing activities in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service, using the links provided in the Activities section.
After you have completed the settings in the relevant Customizing activity, navigate back to this document using the green Back (F3) arrow.
- Check the supported BOM selection ID for Service before defining BOM usages and selection priorities for BOM usages. You do this in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Bills of Material -> Determination of Alternative Bills of Material -> PM-Specific Selection Criteria for Alternative Determination -> Define Selection Criteria for Alternative Determination:
- Check the selection ID of Application S4C1, which is the standard BOM application for Service.
- Define your BOM usage used in Service for service purposes. You do this in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Serviceunder Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Bills of Material -> General Data-> BOM Usage:
- Under Define BOM Usages, choose Required or Optionalfor the plant maintenance (PM) indicator.
- Define the selection priorities for automatic selection of the BOM usage in Service processes. You do this in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Bills of Material -> Determination of Alternative Bills of Material:
- Under Define Priorities for BOM Usage, enter the selection ID, BOM usage, and selection sequence.
- In addition, you must perform the following setting for the BOM usage in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Bills of Material -> General Data:
- Under Define Valid Material Types for BOM Header, define whether BOMs can be created for materials of a particular type for each BOM usage used in Service processes.
- In addition, you must perform the following setting for the BOM usage in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Bills of Material -> Item Data:
- Under Define Material Types Allowed for BOM Item, define the material types supported in the creation of BOM items in relation to the BOM usage and the BOM header material type.
- When you create BOM items, you can define default values for the item status for each BOM usage. You do this in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Bills of Material -> General Data-> BOM Usage -> Define Default Value for Item Status.
