In this Customizing activity, you maintain the switch parameter value for the gross recalculation mass run (using the switch group ID GROSS):
- Switch value ID PART_SIZE
- Enter a numeric value for the partition size for the gross recalculation mass run. The value indicates how many social service plan chains (SSP chains) are included in each partition.
- The value is used for the gross recalculation mass run to create suitable logical units of work (LUWs). You execute this mass run in the SAP menu under Service -> Industries -> Social Services -> Mass Processing -> Execute Gross Recalculation (T-code: CRMS4_PS_MRC_GROSS).
Partitioning of work into LUWs is done for the following reasons:
- Good scalability with the total amount of data to be processed.
- For scalability reasons it is more efficient to process several data objects within one LUW.
If a value for the partition size is not maintained or the value is explicitly set to zero, the system assigns each SSP chain to the same partition (in other words, it processes all of the work within one LUW).
In detail the system does the following during the gross recalculation mass run:
- It splits up the total work (using SSP chains).
- It builds up partitions based on the specified partition size value (filling each partition with that number of SSP chains).
- It processes all of the SSP chains in a partition.
- In other words, it creates gross entitlement documents and gross payment documents and executes a commit or a rollback work on them (depending on the outcome of the execution and whether the Simulation Run indicator was selected on the selection screen).
