In this Customizing activity, you define the number range that the system uses to number the snapshots of a validation sheet so that it can transfer them to an SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence system (SAP BI system).

A snapshot is a read-only backup copy of a previous version of the validation sheet, that is, of the content of the validation sheet at an earlier stage. The chronological sequence of snapshots is the history of the validation sheet. By default, the system creates a snapshot of the validation sheet whenever the status of an item in the claim that is to be validated changes to To Be Approved or Approved.

Within the SAP CRM system, a validation sheet is identified by a GUID (globally unique identifier), and each snapshot of a validation sheet is identified by a separate GUID. However, these GUIDs are too long to be transferred to an SAP BI system. Therefore, in addition to the GUID, the SAP CRM system assigns an external ID to each validation sheet and assigns a version number to each snapshot of a validation sheet.

The system takes external IDs from the CLAVSEXTID number range object, which you define in Define External ID Number Range, and it takes version numbers from the CLAVSEIVER number range object, which you define here.

When the SAP CRM system transfers a validation sheet snapshot to an SAP BI system, it identifies the snapshot by its version number combined with the external ID of its validation sheet, instead of the snapshot GUID.

Define an interval for the number range.

With the shipped program code of SAP CRM, you should define one interval only and you should use the number "1" to label it.

Define the minimum value and the maximum value of the interval.
