In Digital Asset Management, you can upload digital assets and then qualify them, or make changes to uploaded non-qualified digital assets.

To do this, you need authorization to upload or change non-qualified digital assets. Non-qualified means that the characteristics of the digital asset do not have any values yet.

Specify the user authorizations in role maintenance so that the authorizations are also valid for digital assets without characteristic values.

Example: A user wants to upload a digtal asset into his or her system and then qualify it. After uploading and before qualification, the digital asset does not have any characteristic values and no type of digital asset is specified.

So the user gets the required authorizations, the type of digital asset and relevant characteristics must be specified in role maintenance so that these may be blank.

To specify this blank value, you require a value that does not occur as a valid value for the characteristic in question or the type of the digital asset.

In Digital Asset Management, a value like this is also called an authorization check default value.

You can specify a value like this as a blank value in the IMG activity, so that you can then use it in role maintenance.

Ensure that there are no entries in the left-hand column of form PROPERTY_1 or PROPERTY_2, but the names of the characteristics as they were assigned in the classification system (CA-CL). For more information, see also Mao LOIO Properties of Class System to Auth. Object DAM_ASSET.

Value DEFUP is only a proposal, and you can change it in the project at any time.

Caution

If the entries in this IMG activity do not match the blank values in role maintenance, the user has no authorizations for the digital assets.

You do not have to specify the initial values for the status of the digital asset and security status because they are already defined in Define Digital Asset- and Security Status.

Note

If you already manage digital assets in your system, always execute report CRM_DAM_UPDATE_BS_TABLES after making changes in this IMG activity, then restructure any existing KM index.

You have maintained IMG activityMap LOIO Properties of Class System to Auth. Object DAM_ASSET .

Maintain the default value for the type of digital asset ( key: DAM_DOC_TYPE ), and for the characteristics in positions PROPERTY_1 to PROPERTY_5 if you use them.
