SAP E-Book

For each departure country/region, you must maintain the following default values for excise tax handling:

  • Source of the excise tax rates (internal or external)
  • Business partner role (ship-to party, sold-to party, bill-to party), from which the excise tax relevant attributes are copied into the sales document

The default value for the source of excise tax rates is used when you create a sales document and there is no source maintained in the excise tax-relevant business partner role.

Procedure without integration of SAP Oil & Gas/SAP Mining:

  • Check which default values for excise tax handling you need in your company.
  • For each country/region, define the source of the excise tax rates and the partner role, from which the system copies the excise tax relevant attributes into the sales document.

Procedure with integration of SAP Oil & Gas/SAP Mining:

  • Replicate the Customizing settings that you make for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream) for the Tariffs, Duties and Permits (TDP) component by choosing Global Settings -> Default Values -> Maintain excise duty defaults for sales. Note that you map the combination of company code and plant to country/region.
  • If you change the Customizing settings in one system, you must replicate these in the other system.
