In this IMG activity, you determine authorizations and issue an authorization level for each authorization group in connection with key fields such as transaction type, item category, and delivery status. You fill control table CRMM_AUTH_FIELD with these entries.

In the authorization check the system evaluates the control table, and checks whether the authorization level from the control table is above or below the authorization level in the authorization object of the user. If the user has at least the same authorization level in their authorization object as the authorization level in the control table, they are allowed to overwrite the field. If their authorization level is below the one in the control table, they are not allowed to change the field.

If a field is assigned to several authorization groups, then all authorization groups are checked independently of each other. The user must have authorization for all authorization groups in the required level.

Note: When entering data in the columns Transaction Type and Item Category, note that if there is no value entered, no values are assigned and that an asterisk (*) means that all values are valid. If the assignment should be valid for all values, you must choose the asterisk.

If you have added additional key fields, you must assign an asterisk to the newly added key fields. This is the only way to ensure that the rules previously created for the authorization check are correctly analyzed by the system.

Note: Control table CRMM_AUTH_FIELD is created as a master data table, and therefore cannot be transported. Consequently, you should maintain this control table in your productive system.
