SAP E-Book

You can use this activity to indicate whether you work with divisions in the SAP CRM.

If you select the field Division not activethe division is not displayed on the interface. The division field exists in the background but has been left blank (initial). You need to use a dummy division for data transfer to SAP ECC if you do not use divisions in SAP CRM.

If you use a header division in SAP CRM, you do not need to use a dummy division for data transfer between the SAP ECC and SAP CRM.

Maintain Dummy Division

As SAP ECC can process only documents and master data entered with a division, you have to store a division for data transfer with SAP ECC. The division you enter here must be available in SAP ECC.

If you use SAP CRM together with SAP ECC, you must always maintain a dummy division in SAP ECC, to be able to exchange data (master data and documents) between systems, if you are not using a header division in SAP CRM.

You can find further information in the field help for the field R/3 dummy division.

Please note, you must remember to maintain sales area data (sales organization, distribution channel and division) in SAP ECC for business partners that you have originally created in SAP CRM. If sales area data is not maintained in SAP ECC, you will not be able to transfer sales transactions into your SAP ECC, as they will not be accepted. This applies to all division types (dummy or otherwise).

Example

You have two customer master records in SAP ECC with data for the different sales areas that you want to use in SAP CRM:

Customer Sales Area (SOrg/DtChnl/Division)
Smith 1000/ 01/ 01
Smith 1020/01/00
Curtis 1020/01/00
Curtis 1000/07/00

If you choose division 00 as an SAP ECC dummy division, you must complete the data for 1000/01/00 for customer Smith.

Maintain Header Division

If you want to use a header division in SAP CRM, select the field Header division active. You use this if your company, rather than your products, is organized according to divisions. You can find further information in the field help for the field Header division active.

Example 1

  1. You have deactivated the division for SAP CRM and entered the SAP ECC dummy division 00 - cross-division.
  2. You create a sales order for three products: A, B and C. The products do not have a division in SAP CRM. The responsible sales organization is 1000, distribution channel 10 - Final customer sales.
  3. After transferring the order into the corresponding SAP ECC system, it has the following data:
Sales area: 1000/10/00
Product A (Division 00)
Product B (Division 00)
Product C (Division 00)

Example 2

  1. You use divisions in SAP CRM but not a header division. You have entered the SAP ECC dummy division 07 - High Tech for the data exchange with SAP ECC.
  2. You create a sales order for two products: D and E. The products have division 07 - High Tech. At header level the CRM sales order has no division; it has only distribution channel 1000/10.
  3. After transferring the order to the corresponding SAP ECC system, the order has the following data:
Sales area: 1000/10/07
Product E (Division 07)
Product D(Division 07)

Example 3

  1. You use a header division in SAP CRM.
  2. You create a sales order for business partner D for two products: E and F. Business partner D is assigned to division 01 in your organizational model. The products have division 07 - High Tech. At the header level, the CRM sales order has sales area 1000/10/01.
  3. After transferring the order to the corresponding SAP ECC System, the order has the following data:
Header Level:
Sales area: 1000/10/01
Business Partner D
Item Level:
Product E
Product F
