Create partner determination procedures that the system uses to automatically assign partners in business transactions.

In this Customizing activity, you create partner determination procedures that the system uses to automatically enter partners in business transactions.

When you define a new procedure, you assign it to a transaction category or an item object type, and enter required and mandatory partner functions. These are the partner functions the system looks for in transactions. You maintain settings for each partner function, and list which functions are displayed in the transaction document header. When you later assign this procedure to a transaction type or an item category, the settings you make here are valid in transactions of that type or for items of that category.

The partner redetermination settings are specified for each partner function. Redetermination is only possible for the business object types maintained in the table COMS_PARTNER_DET.

You choose one of the following redetermination settings:

Setting Description
Partner will not be replaced
A New partner will be added
B New partner will replace existing partner

The redetermination option is available when you activate the enhancement implementation ES_CRM_SET_ACTIVE of the enhancement spot ES_CRM_PARTNER_REDETERMIN. You also must set the parameter value X for the user parameter CRM_REDETERMINATION.

You can block partner determination for this procedure and activate the partner determination log. If you have blocked partner determination, no redetermination is possible for this partner function, regardless of the partner redetermination settings.

You can restrict the availability and use of partner functions in business transactions. You can define whether only partner functions determined in the partner determination procedure are available in a business transaction or whether all partner functions are displayed.

Create new procedures using the wizard or by copying existing procedures and modifying the copies. Avoid changing existing procedures.

After creating a new procedure using the wizard, check it for errors by choosing Check partner determination procedure.

For a partner determination procedure to be available for a transaction type, you must assign both the procedure and the transaction type to the same transaction category.

The same applies to partner determination procedures, item categories, and item object types. For a procedure to be available for an item category, you must assign the procedure and item category to the same item object type.
