The Implementation Guide (IMG) activity for defining text determination procedures is a basic function of SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM). You should first read the documentation for Define Text Determination Procedure.

In this IMG activity, instead of defining a unique text determination procedure for investigations, you insert the text types you created previously into existing procedures.

Text determination procedures are assigned to item categories. This means that in investigations, there can be various text determination procedures for each item category. For all text determination procedures, the text type that is read-accessed or write-accessed must be included. If this is not the case, the system produces an error message. In this case, you can still create the text type in the text determination procedure and then execute the work item once again.

In the text determination procedure, identify the input text types with the change indicator P (text type is logged) and the text type for output of the text log with the change indicator R (text type displays the log).
