In this IMG activity, you can define the Business Object Layer (BOL) objects that can be saved in the global data context (GDC). In the IC WebClient, this global data context is known as business data context (BDC).

At different times, the components save objects in the GDC to share them with other components, for example, the confirmed business partner is saved after it has been confirmed.

The GDC is also one of the data sources used by the transaction launcher. This means that the transaction launcher wizard reads the customizing to know at design time which objects are available.
