SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you define the lock and unlock reasons for a subscription contract.

To lock a contract, you must also assign an origin. A lock reason is unique and cannot be used more than once (for example, for locking at the customer's request and for automatic locking).

For every unlock reason, the corresponding lock reasons must already be defined.

  1. Define your lock reasons and assign them an origin. You can choose between the following options:
  • Financial: This lock is expected to originate from a financial system, for example, if the customer has falls behind on payments. Financial locks can only be created via an API.

  • Customer: The lock is set on the customer's request, for example, due to loss of a device or a planned vacation.

  1. Check the Lock CCflag to lock the provider contract in SAP CC as well.
This flag is optional.
This flag is checked in the class CL_CRMS4_SOM_LOCK_CC_WS(for example, ODI step PCLC), which sets the operational status of the contract in SAP CC to locked.
  1. Check the Lock FI-CAflag to set the related locks in FI-CA based on the settings under the Map FI-CA Lock Reasonsfor the relevant Lock Reason.
This flag is optional.
This flag is checked during the distribution of the subscription contract to FI-CA provider contract (for example, ODI step PCEA).
Under Map FI-CA Lock Reasons, maintain the mapping between subscription contract Lock Reasonsand the lock reasons of multiple types of locks on FI-CA, such as Provider Contract Invoicing Lockand Billing Plan Header Lock. These mapping conditions will be considered only if the Lock FI-CAflag is set.
  1. Select a Strategyto define whether a lock is implemented directly on the subscription contract or via a change order.
Use the option via a change order, for example, if the lock process has implications on the price.
  1. Define the Unlock Reasonsfor the relevant Lock Reason.
