In this Customizing activity, you define assignment schemas for technical resources.

The assignment schema defines which and how many resources of certain resource types can or have to be assigned to a contract using this schema. It also defines an order for all resource types used in a schema, which is reflected in the appearance on the UI, as well as in the fact that the sort order 1 defines the leading resource of a later contract.
In case more than one resources are allowed for this resource type, the first will be the leading resource. IDs of leading resources are the ones that are displayed whenever a contract is shown in a list or overview that does not allow to show the whole technical resources.

To define the assignment schema, proceed as described in the following:

  1. To maintain the schema, create a new assignment schema using New Entries.
  2. Enter a relevant schema ID and description.
  3. To add resource types to your schema, select the schema and then switch to the folder Schema Details.
  4. Here, you can add the required resource types using New Entries.
  5. The types available here are maintained in the Customizing activity Define Types of Identification
  6. Maintain the sort order for the resource types starting from 1 without having double entries.
  7. For each resource type, maintain a minimum and maximum number of resources to be assigned for contracts.

For a cloud subscription contract, an IP address is mandatory. Optionally, one or two e-mail addresses may be provided to contact the customer in case of problems.

In this example, the schema has two lines:

·,,The first line with resource type IP address with minimum and maximum = 1
In this case, the resource type is mandatory without the option to add further IP addresses.

·,,The second line with resource type e-mail address with minimum = 0 and maximum = 2
In this case, the resource type is optional with the option to add up to 2 e-mail addresses.
