In this Customizing activity, you define the action definitions that are proposed for in-house repair items/repair objects (defined under Item Category) in a certain custom life cycle status (under Custom Status).

Once a repair object has reached the custom status, the corresponding action definitions for the repair object are displayed as buttons (used as 'recommendation items' in the SAP Fiori Guidelines) on the UI. When you choose a button on the UI, the system performs the corresponding action definition.

You can use the action definitions to do the following:

  • Create follow-up transactions for repair objects
  • Change the status of the repair objects

  1. Select the item category for which an action definition is to be performed.
  2. Select the custom status for which you want to allow the action definition.
  3. Select the action definition that is proposed when the repair object reaches the custom status.
The action definitions are displayed as buttons (recommendation item) on the UI.
You can use the BAdI: Adjust Actions for In-House Repair Items to adjust the settings for the action definition.
  1. Assign the action definition to a specific SAP Fiori app.
The action is displayed in the app.
  1. Define the sort sequence for the proposed actions that are displayed as buttons on the UI.
If you do not define the sort sequence, the actions (buttons) are displayed in random order.
  1. Assign an action icon for each action definition.
This icon is displayed on the related button.
  1. Enter a text under Action Description.
This text is displayed on the button that has been implemented for the action definition.

Display a button for the follow-up step Create Repair Order in the Perform Prechecks app:

  • Item Category: REPI (repair object (item))
  • Custom Status: R020 (Precheck: Decision Pending)
  • Action Definition: START_REPAIR_TAM2 (Create Repair Order)
  • SAP Fiori App: Perform Prechecks
  • Sort Sequence for Actions: 20
  • Action Icon: sap-icon://wrench
  • Action Description: Create a repair order for the repair object and define details.
