In this Customizing activity, you configure parameters that are used when you archive business transactions:
- Cross-Archiving Object Check is Active
- Package Size for the Preselection Function
- Resubmission Interval in Days
- Number of Calls of Preselection Function
- Package Size for Check Function
- Variant of Preprocessing Program
If you do not activate the parameter Cross-Archiving Object Check is Active, you can use the parameters Package Size for the Preselection Functionand Resubmission Interval in Daysto define the package size and frequency of archiving preselection runs.
If you activate the parameter Cross-Archiving Object Check is Active, you can use the parameters Number of Calls of Preselection Functionand Package Size for the Check Functionto define the package size and the frequency of objects checks. The settings you make in this case, have a direct effect on the cross-archiving object check program ARCDEL_VERIFY_PARA. SAP recommends the use of this check program if you must process large volumes of transactional data. The check program supports the subdivision of data into smaller packages and parallelization using remote function calls.
In both cases, you can restrict data selection by specifying a program variant using the parameter Variant of Preprocessing Program. You can create these variants in the archiving transaction SARA.
