In this activity you define the transaction types you want to use to sell product packages in the utilities industry.

Transactions containing utility packages are usually split into several technical one-order documents each containing the items that can be handled by the individual transaction type. This split takes place in the background only and is not visible for the user.

When a utilities package product is entered in the package item, the package controller automatically creates the one-order documents in which the items are found and the item components contained in the package. A transaction type is required to create these documents.

This table defines which transaction types are used.

  1. In the first column, you enter the transaction type for the package document.
In the standard delivery, the transaction type is IUPC for contract packages and IUPQ for quotations.
The package transaction type is defined in the utilities process framework Customizing for the package processes.

  1. In the second column, you enter the item category group.
As is also the case for item category determination, this value is used to determine the transaction type required to store the item component.
This value must match the item category group defined in the product for the item component to be created.

  1. During creation of the component items, the system creates a document with the transaction type defined in the third column.

For utilities item components, the transaction type has to be the same as the transaction type of the contract/quotation used to start the package creation process.
In the standard delivery, the transaction type is ISUL for contracts and ISUQfor quotations. The contract/quotation transaction type is defined in the utilities process framework Customizing for the contract creation/quotation creation process.
