CRMUT_PROFILE_GROUPS - Define Profile Group Types

In this activity you define the profile group type.

Profiles belonging to a point of delivery can be grouped together into profile groups. To include a profile in a profile group, you enter a profile group in the Profile Group Type field of the profile. The fields Profile Group Key and Profile Group Number are available. These fields allow you to distinguish between several profile groups with the same profile group type at a point of delivery.

When you import profiles in the Points of Delivery application, profile groups are created when you execute one of the following functions: From Consumption Extrapolation, Upload from PC, From RTP Import and Generate for Product.

For the functions From Consumption Extrapolation, Upload from PC, and Import from RTP, the profile group only indicates that this function imported the profiles together into the system. Each profile in the group is given the corresponding profile group type. Each group is issued an individual profile group number to distinguish between the groups.

If you use the function Generate for Product to generate profiles, the generated profiles are indicated by the profile group type Generated for Product. Additionally, a sequence number is entered in the Profile Group Key field for the product key to which the profiles were generated, and in the Profile Group Number field. For the profiles belonging to these groups, you cannot change the attributes, which are assigned by the product (by the profile scheme specified in the product).

To define further profile groups, select New Entries.

Define the key and the long text for the profile group, and save your entries.
